PBTC Overview

PBTC is a liquid, omnichain, yield-bearing token backed by native Bitcoin and its derivatives.

These assets are secured by institutional-grade, on-chain MPC custody, allowing access to both CeFi and DeFi liquidity venues for scalable and stable native yield generation. PBTC's backing assets can always be validated on-chain and independently audited by the public.

The mechanics of creating PBTC allows Bitcoin holders to:

  1. Deposit or stake BTC assets on their native chains.

  2. Receive PBTC on the destination chains without needing a bridge.

  3. Earn native yields passively from various sources, including:

    • Bitcoin staking

    • Delta-neutral strategies

    • Ecosystem incentives from Photon Labs and partners

  4. Retain the liquidity and value of their Bitcoin assets.

  5. Hold or use PBTC in yield-generating DeFi activities such as:

    • Provide liquidity to DEXs

    • Lend to earn interest

    • Yield farming & trading

    • Mint yield-bearing synthetic assets

    • Other novel and innovative yield-generating activities

Photon Labs makes earning yield on Bitcoin while HODLing simple and accessible through a secure, trust-minimized framework.
